UFC 155: Dos Santos vs Velasquez Rematch

The long-talked about event was made official by the UFC on Friday for the date and location that previously had been reported by MMAjunkie.com. Though the event number and date were known, the MGM Grand location had not been made formal until Friday, nor had the main event. "UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez 2" takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas on Saturday, December 29, 2012 and headlines the heavyweight championship showdown between reigning champion Junior Dos Santos (15-1 MMA, 9-0 UFC) and the man he took the title from, Cain Velasquez (10-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC), in the highly awaited rematch. 

The UFC announced Friday that former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin, who was awaiting a replacement opponent with Chael Sonnen moving on to face Jon Jones, will meet Phil Davis, likely in the co-main event slot.  

Also on this card Chris Weidman vs Tim Boetsch. Its not official but many believe that the winner of this fight will get a title shot at the middleweight champion Anderson Silva. After canceling a title fight twice against Jose Aldo, Erik Koch will now face Ricardo Lamas. UFC officials confirmed the winner could be in position for a shot at the title. This card will also feature a lightweight clash between top contenders Joe Lauzon and Gray Maynard. And a rematch 6 years in the making as Alan 'The Talent' Belcher looks to avenge his 2006 loss to Yushin 'Thunder' Okami. UFC 155 will also mark the much anticipated return of Chris 'The Crippler' Leben as he takes on 'The Terminator' Karlos Vemola.
